Our purpose is threefold; educational – to promote, as an object of primary importance, institutions for the general diffusion of knowledge; patriotic – to cherish, maintain, and extend the institution of American freedom; to foster true patriotism and love of country; historical – to perpetuate the memory and spirit of men and women who achieved American independence.
A number of committees work with schools and the community to foster and support education including Community Classroom, DAR Schools, and Literacy Promotion.
Committees ranging from Americanism (supports newly naturalized citizens among other initiatives), to Constitution Week, Service for Veterans, and more carry through on our promise to support patriotism.
Whether your interest is in preserving historic places, genealogy, or historic artifacts there is a project or committee for you!
We are committed to equality. We are committed to service. We are committed to conservation.
