A “Real Daughter” is a DAR member whose parent was the ancestor with Revolutionary War service.

Miss Mary Spooner was born in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, in 1794.

She is a descendant/daughter of Micah Spooner and Patience Crapo, of Massachusetts. Micah Spooner, 1754 -1822, served as a minute man at the Lexington and Rhode Island alarms. He was born in Dartmouth; died in Fairhaven.

Mary died in 1899 at the impressive age of 105, and is buried in New Bedford.
